Christmas 2015 Projects Catch Up - Base & Bling!

I'm trying to catch up some Christmas projects on the blog.  This year I made some necklaces for some special girls in my life using some Close To My Heart Base & Bling items.  I love the Base & Bling jewelry!  You can create some very cute handmade gifts in a very short time.  I did have an issue using the oval pendants with the stickers I wanted since they were square stickers - note to self to make sure you ordered the same size pendants as the stickers you have your heart set on.  But they turned out really cute anyway - I LOVE this penguin!  I created some necklace holders using some white cardstock with a couple slits on the corners.  I stamped the sentiment using another retired CTMH set called Say It All (C1632).  I then created simple boxes from some retired CTMH paper called Skylark.  The tags were cut from my Cameo and stamped using the Christmas Post (D1610) stamp set from CTMH and heat embossed with some fun glitter embossing powder from Sparkle & Sprinkle that I got at my Scrapbook Expo last year.  Unfortunately the pictures did not do the sparkle justice.

2015 Christmas Cards

I had so much fun making these cards!  That's a good thing because I made over 50 of them!!  I used Schell's Joy Fold instructions from her 2015 Mickey and Minnie Card Series.  Go check it out here:  https://youtu.be/l6U3VJezUvI  Her videos are awesome and so easy to follow!

Supplies:
Black Cardstock - Recollections
Patterned Paper - There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays from The Paper Studio
Glitter Paper - Die Cuts With a View
Cream Cardstock (sentiments and inside panel) - Colonial White by Close To My Heart
Inks - Ponderosa Pine by Close To My Heart (retired color - sorry) and Versafine Onyx Black (embossed with clear embossing powder by Ranger)
Spellbinders Lacey Ovals Die
Spellbinders Large Ovals Die
Sentiment - Holiday Tags D1560 from Close To My Heart and Glory D1483 (retired set)

Gift Card Holders

For something as simple as a gift card holder I cannot believe I used so many different supplies!!  I started with an idea I found on Pinterest that did not lead to an actual web page (grrr!) so I can't give credit.  If you know who designed this, please let me know so I can give them credit.  Don't you just hate it when Pinterest takes you to just an image with no details?

Supply List:
Red Cardstock - Recollections - cut at 3.75" x 11" and scored at 3" and 7.5"
Glitter Paper - Die Cuts With a View
Gift Paper - The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) - cut at 2.75" x 3.5"
Ribbon - Hobby Lobby
Snowflake Die - Spellbinders
Scalloped Circle Punch - Fiskars
Circle Punch (for the inside notch) - The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
Snowflake Embossing Folder - Darice (Hobby Lobby)
Fancy edge on front - Spellbinders Labels Ten Nestabilities (partially die cut)
Adhesives - Scotch ATG, large glue dots, and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives

I told you it was a lot of supplies!!  I also used my awesome CutterPillar and my Big Shot (with both my extended plates and my magnetic plate) so I pretty much used all my tools except for my Cameo or Cricut.  Although the original plan for these gift card holders did use a cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and a CTMH stamp set but the tags I created just didn't fit these holders so they will get used on Christmas presents under the tree instead.  I'll try to get some pics of those and post the info.

Heirloom Nativity

My son loves gag gifts so for Christmas this year I got him a fabulous rubber duck nativity set!  I picked it up at Hobby Lobby.  To make it even better I made a beautiful box for the set.  I sure hope it gives him a good laugh and that every year when he looks at them he will remember me fondly (or at least with a sigh and an eye roll).

This is the second time I've made this box and I really love it.  I did make a change this time and trim off the flaps that are on the lid so the pattern paper I used for the bottom of the box could show through the star cutouts.  If you leave the flaps on, the box is much sturdier but I was willing to sacrifice sturdiness for cuteness!  I used the Large Snowflake Box from the Winter Gazebo set by SVGCuts.com.

I used paper from the Close to My Heart Snowhaven paper pack.  I absolutely love this paper!  I also used a leftover embellishment from the Close to My Heart Yuletide Carol Workshop on the Go and some Close to My Heart Sparkles that I colored with a Copic Y28 marker to make them gold.  I'll let you in on a little secret...you can color those gems any color you want with an alcohol marker.  Once I found that out I quite buying anything other than clear ones.

The paper I used for the bottom of the box is from the Close to My Heart Paper Fundamentals Enchantment Assortment.  I really like this paper because one side has a glossy design that you can rub ink over and end up with a really cool effect.  I used Tim Holtz Barn Door Distress Ink to get the effect I was looking for on this box.

But...the best part is on the inside!

I think the cow and the donkey are my favorites!
